Crazy. Authentic. Real! Sevan Startup Summit 2019 is already history. The annual seven-day camp summit at the Armenian blue beauty Lake Sevan has already become a tradition and one of the most expected events for all the startups. This year’s summit held on July 28-August 3 involved 120 startups from Armenia and 45 other countries. Each year there is overwhelming excitement around the summit and obviously positive results have made this event very popular.
This year’s summit was prominent for our company Develandoo AI Innovation Lab as well since we signed an exclusive partnership agreement with Granatus Ventures to unite efforts and add to the boosting process of startups to empower Armenia as a viable platform to launch global businesses. Granatus Ventures is the first technology venture capital firm in Armenia that provides investments, expertise, and networks to start-ups worldwide that leverage Armenia’s potential as an emerging technology hub. The representatives of the two companies, our CEO Albert Stepanyan and the Managing Partner of Granatus Ventures Manuk Hergyan signed the MoU and announced the start of the new collaboration on August the 3rd before the Big Battle giving launch to new cooperation. Our participation in this event and in particular this collaboration was not a coincidence since we as an AI development company are a part of Armenia’s startup ecosystem which should be enhanced through our investment and efforts, too.
Through this event, the participants got an opportunity to take part in various discussions and workshops conducted by influential founders of different companies and business people who were ready to share their experience and success stories to help starting entrepreneurs on their path.
Our CEO Albert Stepanyan was one of those founders and business people. Since the company’s beginnings, one of our core values has been boosting people who have the potential and who really want to work hard and grow. Albert was happy to accept the invitation to be one of the mentors for startups, listen to the owners and share his perspective by giving advice on what should be improved to achieve better results. He had a campfire talk as well in a very cozy atmosphere surrounded by people who were interested to listen about his experience in Commercial AI. Our Lead Data Scientist Ara Ghazaryan was also eager to share his knowledge and experience on the topic as years ago they founded an AI-based protective intelligence suite Scylla. They also spoke about the unique capabilities and the essence of the solution of this system explaining how AI can be used combining the commercial and social aspects.
It was a unique experience for our whole team as we spent amazing and informative days in Sevan attending different talks, meeting new people, networking and just having fun. Thanks to the organizers for this event and looking forward to SSS 2020!
